  • With all of the recent rains it is important to “Sanitize” your pool water. If you haven’t already done so, lower the pool water to at or below the half tile mark (more rain is anticipated.) If you back-wash a D.E. filter to do this, make sure to recharge the filter with D.E. powder or you run the risk of breaking the filter elements. Once the water has been lowered, use 1# of calcium hypochlorite or CalHypo per 10,000 gallons of pool water. This will super-chlorinate the pool water and disinfect the rain water that was introduced into the pool!

If persistent rain is expected, you may opt to super-chlorinate the water until after the storm(s) have passed and sunny days are in the forecast.
